SOCIAL OUTREACH

In an effort to be faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our church strives to serve others beyond ourselves. At least ten percent of all of our offerings are dedicated to mission causes. We also strive to give our time and talents; every month the Outreach Committee provides an opportunity to educate ourselves about the complex problems facing Philadelphia and to partner with others to serve the wider community. Our mission and service efforts focus primarily on homelessness, hunger and education. If you are interested in learning more about this ministry or participating in any of our outreach events, please contact Jim Ballengee at jballengee@penncharter.com.

CALLS TO ACTION

  • One of our earliest partners, Philabundance, needs help this summer: their Community Food Cupboard on Lehigh Avenue needs help Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 3 pm.
  • The Hunger Relief Center at 3616 S. Galloway Street near the stadium also needs help on regular shifts from Tuesday through Saturday.
  • Find both locations here. To volunteer for either of these opportunities, call the Philabundance Volunteer Coordinator, Jan Barnett, at 215-339-0900 x310.
