Broad Street Ministry (BSM) is a sister congregation to Arch Street Presbyterian Church.Rev. Bill Golderer, ASPC’s pastor, also serves BSM as their Convening Minister. BSM holds an astonishing number of opportunities to serve, to learn and to celebrate. Its core work and ministry spring from its worship service which happens every Sunday evening at 6pm. Established in May of 2005 as a Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, Broad Street Ministry is a broad-minded Christian community that cherishes creativity, fosters and nurtures artistic expression, extends inclusive hospitality, and works for a more just world through civic engagement.
We believe God is dynamically at work in the life of every person. We meet people where they are: to learn from their spiritual experiences and to share ours, through worship, educational offerings and spiritual friendship.
Situated at the nexus of Philadelphia’s most divergent populations, BSM works hard to create common ground, practice radical and intentional inclusiveness, and encourage meaningful dialogue across societal divides.
BSM endeavors to a be a ‘cathedral’ that welcomes, serves, shelters supports and befriends our community regardless of faith commitments or lack thereof. We attempt to provide our neighbors with the encouragement and resources that are needed to experience the flourishing God intends for everyone.
BSM fosters the arts as an expression of imagination, beauty and a medium to raise social consciousness. We strive to provide sanctuary, support, and exhibition space for under-resourced artists whose gifts inspire, challenge and elevate the human spirit.
We recognize faith as a catalyst for broad social change and encourage a commitment to discipleship that begins at the church doors, demanding the investment of our lives and affecting the welfare of our community, our city, and our world.
